I was looking through Pinterest one day, and I realized I wanted to re-do my room. I had a limited budget, so I was looking for something that could make a big impact, without a lot of cash. I came upon this how-to for a headboard. I loved the pattern they used, the colors, and the whole bedroom. I immediately went to Home Depot to gather the wood materials I needed and JoAnn’s Fabrics for the padding and fabric. (This was before my blog, and I did not take pictures of supplies or the process, so go check out Sawdust and Embryos for supplies and the tutorial here…)
I was not in LOVE with any of my fabric options. I wanted a fun pattern and something that went with teals and grays (That was my new color palette), but there was nothing that jumped out on me. I am not the kind to wait around though when inspiration strikes. I wanted to get this baby done in one day. So, I settled for a teal a little darker than my walls, and a textured dark gray fabric.
Here is my before and after:
Such a difference, right?!? I love it, and the best part is, I can redo the fabric on the squares when I want something new.
I bought the new comforter from Kohls, rearranged my wall art, changed out the colors on my DIY calendar to match, and I think it is such an improvement!
Also, that desk behind the bed, is the one I will be painting to match this…
