I thought I would start this post with a brief how-to, just for those who might need a re-fresher. I am sure you can find tons of these all over the internet, but this is how I do it!
First the cake! I usually just use a box cake, but this time I wanted to add something extra. I used a white cake, and added lemon zest, juice from half a lemon and 1/2 C. blueberries. Then blended this all together. It was AMAZING!
Once the cake has cooled, break it up.
Add your icing, (I usually use about 1/4-1/2 a tub of pre-made icing). For this cake, I used cream cheese icing because it is not as sweet. Then shape.
Melt some candy melt, add some to the end of the stick and slide it into cake pops, a little more than half way through.
I chose red, and here they are before the ruffles!
Ignore my messy fridge :)
For the ruffles, I was inspired by photos on pinterest like this and this.
I used fondant in five different shades of pink.
I rolled out each piece like a snake, and then flattened it. Here is the first layer
Then I just added the rest until each layer was done! This was super tedious, but I like the way it turned out. Here they are!
Enjoy! Don’t forget to check out all the other cake pops here!
Even place an order!
